Hi, we are Alyssa & Josh, or if you would like to call us by our street names, we are The Bitter Baker & Soy Boy - the people that started Nekosama. We've been partners in life since 2014 and became partners in business in 2022 (risky business...). We specialize in handcrafted whimsical baked goods (mostly cat themed!) inspired by Asian flavors. Everything is made fresh in small batches with local & natural ingredients.

 

We named the business Nekosama out of the love for our 3 cats, however, the 2 cats on the logo actually represent us! We have both worked in the food industry for a looooong time and we wanted to create something that's different and is ours. One of us is proudly Taiwanese so we want to include some fond childhood food memories + Asian flavors in our baked goods. We also love coffee & tea, so you'll see a lot of those flavors in our bakes as well. Of course, we also want to make everything whimsical, yummy and not-too-sweet!
